Minnesota Minute Men Announces 14 Finalist for Fifth Annual Mr. Baseball, Ms. Softball Awards

Minneapolis -    The Minnesota Minute Men, in cooperation with the Minnesota Twins, are proud to announce the finalists for the 2014 Mr. Baseball and Ms. Softball Awards.  The senior athletes have been nominated by college baseball and softball coaches statewide along with professional scouts as leaders in the Minnesota baseball and softball high school leagues.  A banquet will take place on June 15th, 2014 at Jax Café to honor their achievements and select an award winner for each sport.

 “Awards like these are important to every facet of youth sports. They encourage kids to work hard and follow their passions to the fullest degree.  Together, we recognize them annually along with the coaching leaders in our state.” says Matt Williams, Executive Director of the Minnesota Minute Men. 

Sponsor and advertising proceeds will go toward the Minnesota Minute Men Foundation, providing to underprivileged youth athletes in Minnesota.

The banquet will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. June 15th, 2014 at Jax Café.

Minnesota Minute Men Announces 14 Finalists for Fourth Annual Mr. Baseball, Ms. Softball Awards

Minneapolis - The Minnesota Minute Men, in cooperation with the Minnesota Twins, are proud to announce the finalists for the 2013 Play Ball! Mr. Baseball and Ms. Softball Awards.

These senior athletes have been selected by a panel of Major League Baseball Scouts and College Baseball and Softball coaches from around the state for their leadership in the Minnesota baseball and softball high school leagues. A banquet will take place on June 16 and select a winner for each sport. “Awards like these are important to every facet of youth sports as they encourage kids to work hard and follow their passions to the fullest degree,” says Matt Williams, Executive Director of the Minnesota Minute Men. “Together, we recognize them annually along with the coaching leaders in our state.” Sponsor and advertising proceeds will go toward the Minnesota Twins Community Fund and the Minnesota Minute Men Foundation, both providing resources to underprivileged youth athletes in Minnesota.

2013 Play Ball! Mr. Baseball & Ms. Softball Awards

The winner of the 2013 Play Ball! Mr. Baseball & Ms. Softball Awards from the top candidates in High School Baseball and Softball will be announced at the annual banquet on Sunday, June 16th, at Jax Café, 1928 University Ave. NE Minneapolis, MN 55418 (free off-street parking lot).  The festivities will begin with a Social Hour and Silent Auction at 5pm, followed by a dinner and the awards ceremony.

 About Play Ball! Mr. Baseball

 The Play Ball! Mr. Baseball Award began honoring the best High School Senior baseball athlete in 2010 through a direct partnership with the Minnesota Twins and Minute Men. Seven finalists are nominated and ranked each year by a select list of college coaches and pro scouts. The Mr. Baseball is announced at an annual banquet honoring all the finalists over dinner and guest speeches from Jack Morris, Terry Ryan and Ron Coomer.
In 2012 the Minnesota Twins Community Fund announced a full sponsorship of the Mr. Baseball Award- thus taking on the Play Ball! Mr. Baseball Award.
A silent auction takes place during the banquet with proceeds going to underprivileged youth athletes.

The Minnesota Minute Men, in cooperation with the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, have announced the seven finalists for the 2012 Play Ball! Mr. Baseball Award.

The senior athletes are selected by a panel of Major League Baseball scouts and college baseball coaches from around the state.

The finalists were honored and the winner was announced during a banquet Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Jax Café in Minneapolis.

Coaches Richard Seltz of Austin and Neil Johnson of Shakopee were honored with lifetime achievement awards at the banquet.
